GO! Global Orientation on Culture + Ethics has ended
Join us Saturday, March 30 for the 2019 GO! Global Orientation on Culture + Ethics at the FedEx Global Education building!

This free, one-day event is designed to help students evaluate expectations, anticipate potential cultural and ethical challenges, prepare for engagement with global communities, and develop intercultural competencies.

Once you’ve registered, please create a profile (which you can choose to make public) and select the sessions you plan to attend, including full group sessions. NOTE: You may only select one breakout session per timeslot (one red, one green, one blue).

Traveling in different contexts, American students are often highly visible. This session addresses how to navigate the racial and ethnic stereotypes that can accompany this visibility.  The session is intended to help students think about the ways in which race, ethnicity, and nationality are culturally situated.  These elements of identity not only mark our bodies, but they also shape the way we perceive the world and are perceived by others. Panelists will discuss the perspectives we bring with us as well as the perspectives of others, and how to foster dialogue when it's possible and compassion when it's not.
